Synchronization Engine and CDN

Consistently deliver the latest marketing assets from shoreside to ship.

Display content from shoreside systems onboard

Cruise Director’s Synchronization Engine allows content from shoreside systems to be available locally onboard. This is useful for a number of purposes:

  • Display excursion images and text from your Web CMS on your onboard mobile app
  • Show future cruise promotions from your booking system on onboard signage
  • Restore shipboard servers to previous states (being rebuilt from sync records)
  • Provide TV systems with weather forecasts for each remaining port on the itinerary

Bi-directional, intelligent data synchronization

  • Only use bandwidth to synchronize new data; avoid constant VSat connections
  • Customize the QOS to synchronize only during specific times or usage periods
  • Set up workflows to share content created on one ship with the rest of the fleet:
    • A trusted broadcast manager writes a customized movie description referencing a scene in the movie shot at an upcoming itinerary port. That description can become the default across the fleet.
    • Analytics data from the iTV spa booking page can be ported into PowerBI in the head office.
    • Images from the staff photographer can be added into the social media curation tool automatically.
